Meetings+Millennials will be well represented this year at #IMEX17 where 50% of our council will be attending. We have some great plans on the radar, so make sure to pop over, say Hi and put faces to names!
Monday: 15th May 2017
Gráinne, Croke Park Dublin, will be attending the IMEX Design Day for Young Professionals on Monday the 15th of May – where young professionals within the meeting industry are coming together to design education specifically for millennials. Watch this space!
Anne, European Association of International Education, will be attending Association Day and hoping to learn lots and network with her fellow association planners.
Juraj, Slido, will be looking after all things tech and running a session entitled The Rise of Conversational Presenting at 11.30-12.00 as part of EduMonday. Make sure you pop in!
On Monday evening, both Anne and Gráinne will be attending the Association networking Event in the Marriott and are looking forward to seeing some old and new friends ☺ - Make sure to come find us!
Tuesday: 16th May 2017
While Juraj and Gráinne will be busy on their respective stands (F420 – For Ireland, shameless plug! And G215 - as a booth partner of Spacebase) meeting both old and new clients, discussing latest innovations and trends and hopefully securing those all-important wins – Anne will be busy running around from appointment to appointment, focusing on EAIE future congresses. Sometimes I don’t know who has a harder job, the suppliers who get to sit all day, or the buyers who get to run around!
At 2pm, Anne and Gráinne are hoping to inspire IMEX delegates in all things #Millennial, when we will be giving a session on ‘Millennials, are you ready for us’ in Seminar Room 2 at the Inspiration Hub. This session is aimed at both millennials and senior professionals within the industry. We hope to give an insight into how millennials within the meetings industry think, and how to ensure our voice is heard.
At 5.30pm on Tuesday evening, we are planning our first ever Meetings+Millennial informal get-together. For any #millennials attending IMEX, we are planning on meeting at the bottom of the Stairs beside the registration desk (between the exhibition hall and hosted buyer lounge)– we will then make our way together to a nearby bar. This will be the first time we can all come together informally, meet and build those all-important networks! Everyone is welcome!
Wednesday:
Juraj and Anne will then be co-hosting another Meetings+Millennials session on Wednesday morning at 10.30am on the Hot Topics tables. This session will be more interactive and specifically tailored for millennials within the industry to learn from each other and understand the future of the events industry.
In the afternoon, Juraj will be sharing his insights into technology and meeting design during his interactive The Future of Active Learning session and then at the subsequent panel entitled Purposeful meetings, at 14:00 and 15:30 respectively. These sessions are part of Faculty Engagement Program and Future Leaders Forum [if !supportLineBreakNewLine] [endif]
Gráinne will sadly be heading home on a plane Wednesday morning in anticipation of a large association site inspection taking place in Croke Park on the Wednesday afternoon – No rest for the wicked! At least we’ll never be bored!
Thursday
The last day of IMEX will see the end of the #IMEX17 – final meetings and final goodbyes!
